Not Such a Silent Night: The Nativity Recreated

On Saturday afternoon, a collection of younger people from around our community came together to practice the nativity play for this year. With a new play developed and all kinds of new parts to play, the classic story gets a slightly different spin this year.

The nativity play has a long history in our church, particularly in the celebration of the Cupcake Service on Christmas Eve at All Saints. This year, the play will also be performed at Puketapu during a Christmas Festival with music, sausage sizzle and some activities. While some of the key roles in the play are cast, there is always room for many more angels, shepherds and magi for thos who arrive on the day.

You can experience and even take part in the play on Sunday, 17 December at St Michael's in Puketapu, beginning at 5pm, or on Sunday 24 December at All Saints, Taradale, from 5:30pm.
