Dear Wardens

We share with both gratitude and sadness that Diego Gomes will be concluding his ministry with the Koru Ministry Unit and the Taradale Parish on Wednesday 4th February. After serving faithfully among us since May 2025, he will be returning to his home country of Brazil to continue the next chapter of his life and ministry.

Throughout his time here, Diego has offered steady leadership, pastoral care, and a generous heart for people. His ministry has strengthened our shared life in Christ and contributed meaningfully to the mission and growth of both the parish and the wider diocese.

Diego has asked that his thanks be shared with the community. In his own words:

“I am deeply grateful to the Taradale Parish family and also particularly their leadership team for their support, trust, and companionship. I also want to thank the Diocese for taking a step of faith in me and for investing in the next generations. It has been an honour to serve alongside you.”

We give thanks for Diego’s commitment, his energy, and the relationships he has built during his time with us. Please keep him in your prayers as he prepares for travel and transition, and may God’s grace accompany him in all that lies ahead.

Colleen Kaye, Diocesan Registrar and

The Right Reverend Andrew Hedge

Bishop of Waiapu
