Call to Action: Christian Lovelink

Christian Lovelink, an organization we as a parish actively support, has put out an urgent call for support.

Following Cyclone Gabrielle and the reality of the housing crisis in Hawkes Bay, they are finding themselves completely without beds to distributes to needy families that need them to furnish homes. At present, they are placing people on waiting lists for up to 3 months as they try to meet the demand.

Last year, LoveLink supported 955 families, which really means something nearer 3000 people with furniture and supplies for homes and accommodation. This included the provision of some 763 beds in 2023.

With such a high demand, they are not able to keep up and so they have issued a call for donations. If you have a bed in storage, are exploring getting a new one or would simply like to donate toward the cost of Lovelink purchasing one, please be in touch with their office to help make it happen. Financial donations are tax deductible.

Alongside this, as a Parish, we will be seeking to make a donation to this important work in the near future as part of our commitment to the wider mission of God in Hawkes Bay.
