This Easter season, as a community we want to encourage the young people of Hawkes Bay to engage with the possibilities and the theme of hope - something that Easter carries in spades and that is such a part of the good news that we proclaim to the world.
To help this reflection, we have launched a short film competition targeted at those in Intermediate and High School to see what creative minds can do. Their task is to dream up, produce and edit a short movie (no more than 15 minutes) that captures the them of hope. It does not need to be spiritual or religious in anyway, and is instead simply a creative opportunity to engage with the idea.
First prize for the competition is a $350 prezzy card, with $100 for second and $50 for third. The movies will be screened on the evening of Easter Sunday at All Saints' Church in Taradale and the winners announced.
Entries are now open for the competition, with the deadline closing on Sunday, 31 March at midday.
