Celebrating 150 years of All Saints

Alongside a special sesquicentenary dinner on Saturday, 1 November, we are sending the invitation wide for any and all that wish to celebrate the 150th anniversary of All Saints' Church on All Saints' Day, Sunday 2 November this year.

With special guests invited from across the world, as well as historic leaders in our community, we are encouraging members of All Saints' to send the invitation wider with special cards we have printed inviting others. With a long history of connection with Taradale, Napier and Hawkes Bay, we want to gather as many as we can to thank God for the years of faithful service.

The Sunday will host two morning services and our evening gathering. The first service will be at 8am and will be followed by a pot-luck morning tea where the congregations and our guests can cross paths and stories. This morning tea will also see the burying of a time capsule to be opened in 50 years time, as All Saints' celebrates 200 years of life and worship. The plan is for the next service to begin around 10:30am, with the celebrations completed by midday.

Both services will have spaces of thanksgiving, recommitment and celebration, with guests taking parts. We will also be led in a reaffirmation of our baptismal vows by those clergy that have served and can make it for the celebration.

We are excited to come to this moment of community celebration and cheer, and invite you to help make the day truly special by inviting those you know have treasured All Saints, and those who wish to see it continue as a treasured space of worship, prayer and life for the generations to come.

I think prayers connect hearts better than anything. Sending her this morning prayer for my girlfriend really set a loving tone for the day. Similarly, good morning prayer for her made me realize how powerful words can heal and uplift
