Good Friday

The only reason Good Friday is good is that we are here telling Jesus’ story – still.
The only thing good about this story is that Jesus kept on with the loving even in the face of unspeakable cruelty and injustice – still.
There is nothing good about cruelty and injustice. Nothing that makes it worthwhile, nothing that makes it OK, nothing that takes away the slicing edgy hardness, yet it goes on – still.
On this Friday, when the goodness of God was put to an unfair, biased test, and won, we struggle on – still.
Will we stay with Jesus, or will we go? Will we deny we ever knew him, or will we face the time of testing beside him? And when it is our turn to forgive each other, will we be able to say ‘Father, forgive them’ when we know what they’ve done?
Want to know more, then come to our Good Friday service on 3 April at 10am in All Saints Taradale…
