With the Christmas Countdown now well and truly underway and all of the last minute challenges of this season coming to bear, we thought a chance to think about how you and your family might celebrate the Christmas Season could be the tonic to the stress!
With lots of options for young and old this Christmas Season, there is a gathering or a service for you all to enjoy.
Christmas Eve:
4:00pm - Christmas Eve Service, St George's, Crownthorpe
This will be a gathering of carols and readings to tell the story of Christmas once again, gathering in the beautiful Memorial Chapel of St George in Crowthorpe.
5:30pm - Cucpake Service, All Saints' Chruch, Taradale
This community classic include beautiful carols led by the All Saints' music group, a retelling of the Nativity story through a children's play that anyone can find a part in and, of course, the sharing of delicious cupcakes after the service.
8:00pm - Carols and Bubbles, Forecourt of All Saints, Church, Taradale
This new addition to our roster of gatherings is a chance to engage with the celebration of Christmas in a relaxed and musical way. Gathering on the forecourt of All Saints' Church, with Christmas Tree and Lights setting the scene and a complimentary class of bubbles (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) for you to enjoy, it is hard to see any better way to get into the spirit of the season than joining us in singing in the day.
11:00pm - Midnight Mass, Waiapu Cathedral, Napier
This traditional and beautiful gathering for the first eucharist of Christmas Day is filled with the choral wonder of carols, the beauty of the hope of Christmas Day and the grandeur of the church at its fullest ceremony. To be transported to a different place and experience the transcendent possibility of Christmas Day, this is the gathering for you.
Christmas Day
9:00am - Christmas Family Service, All Saints' Church, Taradale
Come along to share with the church family in the wonder of Christmas Day. With this simple service of communion with a focus on the joy of the day, this is a lovely way to bring the wider story of the day into the imagination of young and old!
9:30am - Christmas Day Service, St Michael's, Puketapu
Gathering in the beautiful church of St Michael and All Angels in Puketapu, this service will be a lovely encounter with the Christmas story through the sharing of scripture, story and comnunion as the day of joy and celebration begins.
