On Saturday, 16 December a community gather at All Saints' Church to experience something of the Christmas story with the retelling of the nativity through the tv series 'The Chosen' and with the lighting of the Christmas Lights that have been put up around the forecourt of the church.
Like out movie night, this is our first go at an event like this. It was great to see groups of people we have never had along before engaging with the story and something of who we are as a church. When it finally become dark enough, the lights were flipped on (or at least the solar panels were covered to turn the lights on) and the enchanting space came to life.
The lights represent the beginning of an investment that, in time, will hopefully make All Saints' one of the 'must see' places on every Christmas Light tour of the Hawkes Bay.
Thank you to everyone who supported the evening and made it possible, especially those who helped to set up the lights and create the enchanting environment the forecourt now is in the evening. We look forward to being able to gather around the lights and the tree as we sing carols on Christmas Eve from 8pm on Sunday, 24 December.
