Following an extensive period of exploration and interviewing, Bishop Andrew has announced the appointment of Rawhia Te Hau Grant as the new Kaihautū/Chief Executive Officer of Anglican Care Waiapu.
Rawhia comes to ACW from Te Kāhui Tika Tanagata (The Human Rights Commission) where she held senior roles focused on change management and treaty implementation within the commission. In his letter to the Diocese, Bishop Andrew noted that "Rawhina will lead the orgainsation to further develop the full potential for ACW as part of the Diocese of Waiapu in seeking to bring about Te Oranga Ake O Te Iwi/the flourishing of life for all people.
In describing Rawhina, the Bishop notes that "One of Rawhina's core values is whanaungatanga (relationship building). She deeply believes in the significant of connections and relationships fostered through shared experiences and creating a sense of belonging."
Rawhina begins in her role in November of this year. The Waiapu Anglican Social Services Trust Board extended their thanks to Joanne Morris who has stepped into the CEO role since the resignation of Lucy Laitenen in 2023. Joanne will continue in a role as General Manager for People and Culture.
