After a brief delay, scaffolding appeared inside All Saints' Church on Wednesday, 15 January as the work to renew and refresh the interior of the church got underway. With the plan to paint the building from ceiling to skirting boards, there is a huge surface area to sand, prepare and to paint as the work gets underway.
The work will see the ceiling and walls painted in a white to allow for the later installation of a lighting system which will give us control over the colours (seasonally and event dependent) that would be cast on the roof and even the walls to create a richer environment for worship and gathering. The lighting work will occur over the coming months, with the desire to get the painting and carpeting completed during the quieter January period where use of the hall is less of a problem.
Below are some of the initial photos of the scaffolding installed in the church. We will keep you up to date with other progress photos as the work begins.
