This Blog is one for our ladies! I was having a sort out of all the clothes that used to fit, (I'm sure a few of you can relate to this) anyway, I had a number of bra's that no longer fit and I remembered a bra sales lady telling me how she went to one to the Islands and fitted out a whole village. The ladies of the village had one bra between them and they had to share it around. I so wanted my bra's to support these women - no pun intended.
I was doing a bit of Googling and found Project Uplift. Their website starts with Imagine life without a bra.... and it goes on to tell how Project Uplift has sent bras from New Zealand as far as the Philippines, Bali, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Botswana, Uganda and Pakistan, but they currently send mainly to the Pacific Islands, in particular Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, and Samoa.
Imagine my surprise when I made contact and found out our very own Doreen McPhail is in the know and can forward any we have.
Literally 1000's of bra's leave our shores every year! Join me and bring in your lonely unloved bra's so they can go on and have a more fulfilling life.
