An Update on Worship Times

Over recent months, our Parish has been preparing for a planned change to our Sunday service pattern, moving from our long-standing 8am and 10am services to a new rhythm of 9am and 11am. We recognise that this has involved a great deal of conversation, planning, and personal adjustment for many within our community.
After careful consideration, we wish to advise that this planned change will no longer be undertaken in the near future. Instead, from February we will be returning to — and holding — our historic service pattern of 8am and 10am.
We know that for some this will come as a disappointment. For others, it may feel frustrating after the energy, hope, and anticipation that had begun to gather around a new worship rhythm. We want to acknowledge honestly that this change of direction may stir a sense of uncertainty or weariness, particularly after a season of preparation and expectation.
This decision has not been made lightly.
It comes in light of an announcement that will be made at the conclusion of worship this coming Sunday, 25 January, and reflects the need for us to hold a steady course while other arrangements and details are prayerfully discussed and discerned. In seasons of transition, wisdom sometimes calls us to pause, to listen carefully, and to allow space for clarity to emerge.
At times, leadership requires us to choose stability over momentum — not because momentum is unimportant, but because the wellbeing of the community must come first. For now, holding our familiar pattern allows us to provide continuity and care while we attend to matters that need thoughtful and prayerful attention.
We are deeply sorry for the angst this change may have caused, and for the sense of lost possibility that some may feel in stepping back from the new service times that had been envisioned. Your patience, goodwill, and generosity of spirit are not taken for granted.
Thank you for walking this journey with grace, for your commitment to the life of the Parish, and for your willingness to trust the process even when the path ahead is not yet fully clear. Our focus at this time is on stability, care for one another, and discerning together the best way forward.
Further insight will be shared following Sunday’s announcement. Until then, we hold the Parish in prayer and gratitude for the faithfulness of this community.
With thanks and care,
The Parish Leadership Team
