While for many the weekend of 9th and 10th November was like any other, as a church it was for us a representation of the activity, impact and influence we are blessed to have.
Beginning on Saturday morning with a wonderful card making event, which raised over $800 for the mission of the church local and international, it was followed by a garden design workshop as part of our community education initiative and then a glorious quiz night which raised a further $600 toward the work of the church. The next day on Sunday morning we were privileged to host Rosie Fyfe, the national Director of the NZ Church Missionary Society who spoke of the partnership the gospel calls us to locally and internationally and who put the call out again for those God is nudging toward gospel proclamation in foreign lands. That afternoon then closed with the first session of our "Being Anglican" class that explored the devotion of our church and what it says about who and what we are as 'Anglicans'.
Our thank you to all who generously give of their time and energy to the raising of funds, of spirits and of community building within our parish's life. As a church we punch well above our weight when it comes to community engagement and impact and it is weekends like the one that has passed that should make us grateful for the opportunities God gives us to serve, and the people God has given us to do the work.
Thank you to all who contribute to the life of our church.
