One of the marks of the mission of the Church is a concern for the creation that God calls 'good' and empowering actions that help us to be better stewards of the gift that we have. As part of this drive, we have partnered with Sustainable Hawkes Bay to launch a satellite depot of the Environment Centre in Hastings.
This initiative will support the city of Napier to gain access to more specialised recycling services and to help us change practices and minimise the amount of waste going to landfill. This partnership will be for an initial 6 months as they assess the popularity of the service and seek additional funding sources to either develop a space for themselves or to further partner with us to launch the service more permanently.
The new initiative will launch on Saturday, 2nd November and will be open every Saturday from then on, 9am to 12:30pm.
To make use of the service, please bring in your cleaned and sorted recycling. This service cannot receive your kerbside recycling, only those items and plastics that cannot be recycled through that system. Please see the document below for a list of items that will be recyclable at the new depot.
